Kurzfassung

Android, initiated and backed by the mighty powers of Google, jumped into the mobile market with a big bang. The first mobile devices are in the market since a while with more to come from a wide range of vendors. But Android is not just suited for mobile handsets. As an open source project Android could play an interesting role in typical embedded environments like cars or industrial automation systems. Android is based on Linux OS and provides a complete toolchain for Dalvik (Java) based applications. This presentation explains Android and its technical architecture and shows some examples of how it could be ported to different target devices.

Über den Referenten

Jürgen Fey konzentriert sich seit vielen Jahren insbesondere im "mobile" Segment auf Technologien, die gerade entstehen und im Begriff sind, die Regeln zu ändern. Projekte für Nokia, Microsoft Mobile, SonyNetservices, die Ericsson Prototype Division sowie Vodafone und T-Mobile geben ihm einen guten Einblick in den Markt. Als Mitglied des OMTP BONDI Konsortiums arbeitet er an der Zukunft von Browser-Anwendungen und als CTO von Androidian steht Android im Zentrum.
